How to Choose the Proper Bicycle

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

There are lots of differing kinds and styles of bikes. You’ll need to fix on the kind of biking you’ll be mainly doing to help you narrow down your selections. Below are just some of the kinds of bikes available on the market today. The 1st bike we’ll mention here are what are thought to be by some to be comfort bikes. These are the type employed by most weekend recreational bicyclists.

They sometimes have a cushy shock-absorbing seat and shock soaking up front forks and wide pedals. Another kind of bike which is craggier than the comfort bike is a trail bike or light duty trail bicycle. These bikes can take more coarse stuff than the bikes discussed above but aren’t intended for Heavy Mountain cycling. Touring bikes are for people that go long distances and quicker than recreational bicyclists. These bikes are built for riding on the pavement. They’re light weight bikes with additional shock absorbency than comfort bikes. Cruiser bikes are heavier than the comfort bikes with fatter tires. They are great for the road, or riding in the sand.

A real off-road bike has a better frame and parts than any other bike as they’re meant for off road and rough terrain. The tires on a trail bike are knobby and wide for more shock support. The seat and handlebars are positioned to make allowance for the rider to lean over while maneuvering the bike.

Recumbent bikes are becoming highly regarded with older riders and people who have some boundaries in physical capability. The rider reclines while pedaling in a feet forward position. The seat is far cosier than on any other bike. Reclining bikes sit low to the ground and have multiple gears. Talk with relatives and buddies who own bikes to get their opinion about what might be the best investment for you.

If you do not think that you can stick with bike riding long-term and if you do not plan to do more than weekend riding you do not need to lay out a lot. Visit many cycles’ shops and talk with the pros before making a choice. You can get many years of pleasure if you select the right bike for you.
